Surely you at least sometimes come up with a variety of ideas for beautiful dresses and other clothing items that you would like to have, but do not know where to get. Most often, such ideas remain non-embodied only because their creators do not know how to turn a thing created in their thoughts into a real thing. The first step to materializing the idea of a thing is to sketch it on paper. A sketch is especially important when you need to sew a thing not for yourself, but for a friend or client - in which case you first need to show the person a sketch of his future costume. Even if you think you can't draw, it's not a problem.
Instructions
Step 1
Clothing follows the contours and proportions of the body, respectively, you must have an idea of how the human body is built - this will help to build a competent sketch.
Step 2
Building proportions starts with the head. The height from the floor to the chin in a person is equal to 6.5 of his head - that is, the proportions of the human body in relation to the head are equal to 7.5: 1. You can also use a ratio of 8, 5: 1. This proportion lengthens the legs of the model in the sketch and makes the drawing more sophisticated.
Step 3
The female figure is smoother than the male. When drawing a sketch of a man's suit, remember that men have wider shoulders than hips and a more angular figure than women. In women, on the other hand, the hips are wider than the shoulders.
Step 4
Before drawing the silhouette of the figure, sketch out the auxiliary "frame" of the body, having previously made 8 marks on A4 sheet with equal distances.
Step 5
Draw an egg-shaped head shape, a tapering torso rectangle, and slightly tapered limbs. Draw the joints of the limbs in the form of circles. Circle the resulting shapes with a smooth outline - they will help to realistically represent the human figure.
Step 6
After that, start modeling the planned costume on a schematic figure. In the sketch, you should not draw the smallest details - it is enough to make a reliable and beautiful image of what you plan to sew.
Step 7
Define with a sketch the type of style and cut of the suit or dress, add a couple of details, correct the silhouette. Your sketch is ready.
