Indoor plants are a wonderful decoration for any interior. But in order for the flowers to look really beautiful, they must be planted in beautiful pots or pots. It is not uncommon to see luxurious wines, geraniums or violets huddled in nondescript plastic containers. Of course, flower pots with interesting designs are not cheap, but you can buy the simplest plastic pots and decorate them yourself!

It is necessary

  • - flower pots (eg plastic);
  • - materials for decoration (depending on the chosen decor option).

Instructions

Step 1

Knitters, even beginners, can make a crocheted cover for the pot (see main photo). To do this, you need to knit a circle (with any pattern, for example, double crochet), and then a rectangular canvas, which will be the future cylinder for your planter. If the pot expands upward, then add columns during knitting. Sew the canvas and the round "bottom" and you will have an unusual and very cozy cover for the pot.

Step 2

You can decorate the pots with shells. They can be attached to the pot with glue (for example, "Moment" - "extra strong"). Better yet, if you first cover the pot with modeling paste (available from an art store or office supply store), or apply a mixture such as Rotgips (available from a hardware store) with a spatula. Quickly press the shells into a pot covered with paste or mixture until the base is dry. Wait for everything to dry. Optionally, you can varnish the planter or paint some elements with acrylic paints

Step 3

You can master the decoupage technique, and then you will have a huge scope for creativity. The technique is based on cutting and gluing napkins (or special decoupage cards). If you master at least some basic decoupage skills, you can decorate interior items in a very beautiful and unusual way. Find decoupage books or workshops online and try your first job using a flower pot as a base

Step 4

The pots made in the "rustic" style look very cute and cozy. With the help of glue, you can attach various elements to the pot that will remind you of summer, nature, and the countryside. For example, glue dried plants - grass, flowers, fruits. Elements of "rustic" decor can be linen ropes, plaits, dim braid, lace, or even pebbles, twigs. In general, use whatever your imagination tells you.
