Step 1
Examine carefully the condition of the old covers. If they have become completely unusable and must be disposed of, then you can simply cut them. Make a cut in the middle. Be very careful not to inadvertently touch or damage the seat trim. After that, you need to cut the cover material under the seat, where it is attached to a set of steel rings.
Step 2
Remove the head restraints. To do this, lower them as far down as possible, pull them towards you and sharply up. The headrest should easily come out of the grooves with characteristic clicks. Remove the cover that is tightly pulled over the headrest. Parse the seam that connects the ends of the fabric. Pull it up gently. At the same time, do not jerk too hard so as not to tear or stretch the cover.
Step 3
Locate the cover mounts under the seat. On older models, the covers are attached with rings. On newer models, they are secured with Velcro or zippers. Unfasten the fastener and carefully remove the cover from the seat shell. The back sofa usually has two covers - the top and the bottom. They dress according to the same principle as the front ones.
Step 4
Think over the attachments of new covers so that you can remove them and put them back on at any time. Velcro and zippers, which are easy to fasten and unfasten, are best. Another great attachment option is lace ties. Sew the covers into bags. Make longitudinal pockets at the edges. Insert the laces into them. In order to remove the cover, you just need to untie and loosen the lace. To secure - tighten the lace and tie with a bow.
Step 5
Leather covers should be removed with extreme care. The slightest excessive force can cause the material to be damaged or pulled out. Therefore, it is best to sew a vertical zipper on the back of leather cases for fixation and easy removal. Lacing will also work. It is necessary to make steel rings on each leather lapel, into which the lace will be threaded.
Step 6
To clean the cover, you do not need to remove it from the seat so as not to fray it again. Regular care can replace washing. Leather covers should be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. Oily stains from the surface of the skin can be easily removed with alcohol or conditioner. Apply starch to clean the fur. Let it rest for a while, then scrub thoroughly with a semi-hard brush. Vacuum the velor covers at least once a week. This will keep the interior of the car completely clean at all times.
