The future singer was born on Christmas Day 1961 in Moscow. From childhood, Katya was fond of musical art. The tragic death of her father, who mistakenly drank a poisonous substance instead of alcohol on the fifth birthday of his daughter, was hard on the girl.
At the age of eight, Semenova began to receive an appropriate education at a music school. At the age of eleven, her mother also dies of oncology. Finding herself without parents, a teenage girl finds herself in the family of her older sister Lyudmila. In a materially difficult atmosphere, Katya had to earn her living by cleaning the entrances on her own.
After graduating from high school and musical education in the piano class, the girl wanted to leave on a Komsomol ticket to the construction of the BAM, but did not pass the medical examination due to poor eyesight. I had to get a job as a vintage woman in a cafe, and then as a nurse in the SES. In the last place, she contracted tuberculosis, for which she was treated for a long time. The disease made it difficult to get a job, and only a few years later she was admitted to the veterinary clinic as a clerk under the patronage of the attending physician.
In 1980, Ekaterina decided to take part in a youth song competition, where she won the main prize. After that, in parallel with her main work, she began to visit the Melodiya recording studio, waiting for an invitation to sing along. And it paid off: one day she was hired to record backing vocals.
And then there was work in the "Girls" team, Y. Antonov's group, children's music programs, television. She even gives concerts as a solo artist. Since 1984, having married the musician of the Arsenal group - Andrei Baturin, - begins a rapid ascent as a pop singer.
