Step 1
In order to catch a swarm of bees, you first need to make several bee traps. They are made from plywood, or from any materials at hand. The main thing is that the top is protected from rain. The notch is cut out in size 10 by 100 mm. The volume of the trap should be about 60-70 liters, this volume is closest to the volume of the hollows in which the bees settle when they leave. The inner walls can be rubbed with propolis to further attract the bees.
Step 2
After the traps are ready, they need to be hung around the forest in places where bees appear at a height of 3-5 meters. Traps need to be checked every day in order to have time to transfer the trapped swarm to their apiary, until the bees have settled down and remember the place where to return with a bribe.
Step 3
If the bees get used to that place, the hive will need to be placed under that tree and move the swarm in late autumn, when the bees will winter.
