Cats, like any other animal, want their own warm place to sleep. Therefore, you can make a hammock for your beloved pet.
It is necessary
- - an old basketball backboard with a ring;
- - dense upholstery fabric;
- - thick synthetic winterizer;
- - acrylic paints;
- - brush;
- - thick sisal rope;
- - jigsaw;
- - sandpaper;
- - pencil;
- - ruler;
- - threads;
- - a needle.
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to do is to disassemble the basketball backboard, that is, remove the ring from it. Just be sure not to lose the fasteners. Next, you need to mark the shield with a simple pencil and cut it so that its width becomes equal to 40-50 centimeters. Remember to cut from the side that does not touch the ring mounting holes. Sawed-off edges must be sanded to avoid burrs.
Step 2
Now the sanded board should be painted on all sides with acrylic paint.
Step 3
Next, you need to draw a paper template in order to make a pattern for a hammock. To do this, attach the basketball hoop to the paper, add a few more centimeters for the allowance, and then cut out the template.
Step 4
Attach the resulting template to a thick fabric folded in half and cut out the necessary parts. Cut out elements must be placed on top of each other so that the front sides are inside. Then sew them with a sewing machine so that 5 millimeters remain at the edge of the parts. Do not forget that the product will need to be turned inside out. Therefore, you need to leave a small hole for this. After the workpiece is turned to the right side, tuck the basketball hoop into it.
Step 5
It is necessary to attach a paper template to a thick synthetic winterizer, according to which the parts from the fabric were cut out. From this filler, you need to cut out a circle according to the pattern.
Step 6
The resulting circle should be placed inside the fabric blank. Then you need to stick a thick sisal rope around the circumference of the hammock, and then sew up the hole so that the ends of the basketball hoop remain outside.
Step 7
Now the hammock needs to be quilted with a thread so that it forms the shape of a bowl. Then attach the ends of the basketball hoop to the painted backboard. It remains only to fix the craft. The cat hammock is ready!
