To knit socks on a small child's leg is the fastest and most convenient way to crochet. It turns out no worse than knitting needles, and your baby will soon be able to put on an elegant and warm new thing.
It is necessary
- - thick threads for knitting (different colors);
- - hook number 4 (or more if the threads are too thick);
- - ruler;
- - your child for trying on socks (or write down their foot measurements).
Instructions
Step 1
Start knitting from toe to heel in a circle. To do this, tie 3 chain stitches and connect them in a ring. Make two lifting air loops and knit 9 more single crochets into the resulting ring. Make 2 lift loops again.
Step 2
In the second row, start adding loops - knit two single crochets in each loop of the previous row. Thus, expand the knitting to the desired size, trying it on after each row of the child's leg. To prevent the sock from taking the shape of a cone, gradually reduce the number of columns added in a row. First, you can add columns every three loops of the previous row, then after two, then alternately, in one loop - one single crochet, in the next - two.
Step 3
When you got the desired foot circumference, knit further, without adding loops, to the ankle. Attach a different color of thread for the heel. Count the number of stitches and continue knitting for about two-thirds of them all the way to the end of the heel. It is better to measure the length of the child's foot in advance in order to compare the sizes later.
Step 4
Fasten and cut the thread. Fold the crocheted heel in half and join with a single crochet stitch.
Step 5
Make two lifting air loops and knit further with single crochet, tying the leg in a circle. Tie the socks to the correct size, keeping in mind that you will still be knitting the elastic. It can be knitted by alternating two front and back embossed columns. After tying the elastic to the desired height, secure the thread and cut.
Step 6
Knit the raised elastic as follows. For the front embossed post, make a yarn over and insert the crochet hook from the front of the toe behind the leg of the post of the previous row. Then make another yarn over and knit the thread through two loops on the hook, then after two more. The seamy column is knitted in the same way, only the hook needs to be inserted from the seamy side of the sock.
