The idea of making toys from socks came to us from Japan. Following the Japanese craftswomen, socks (from the English word socks, which means "socks") began to be made all over the world and for good reason. In many houses there are socks that do not have a pair, so from them you can make cute bears, bunnies, dogs and many other toys, especially since this activity is quite simple and you can do it with your children.

Required materials and tools

Make a sock teddy bear (this is one of the easiest toys to make). To do this, you will need:

- 1 solid color sock;

- a piece of white jersey (you can cut it off from an old white sock);

- filler (synthetic winterizer or holofiber);

- a needle;

- threads;

- 2 small black buttons;

- 1 button of slightly larger diameter for the nose;

- scissors;

- pencil.

How to cut toys out of a sock

Turn the sock over to the wrong side. Place it on the table with the heel up and spread it out. Draw a teddy bear pattern on the item. The toe is the lower part of the head, add the upper part and draw the ears.

The middle part of the sock will serve as the body for the toy. Draw the paws of the teddy bear, to do this, visually divide the elastic into 2 halves and draw 2 legs (semi-ovals) at the bottom. On the other half of the cuff, draw 2 equal pieces for the front legs. Cut out all the details. Cut off the underside of the head piece. From a piece of white jersey, cut an oval for the bear's face.

How to sew a teddy bear

Sew with a seam over the edge with fine and frequent stitches on the top of the head with the ears. Turn right over and fill with filler. Use only lightweight materials as filler: synthetic winterizer, holofiber or special filler for toys. Sew the hole in a circle with stitches over the edge and pull off the thread, sew a few more stitches, giving the muzzle a round shape.

Attach a white jersey oval to your face and start sewing it with neat blind stitches. Leave 2 cm unstitched. Lightly fill the muzzle through this hole to make it more voluminous. Sew up the hole.

Sew on 2 small buttons for the eyes. Attach a larger nose button in the middle of the face and sew the mouth.

Sew the cuts of the parts of the paws, turn them out to the front side and stuff the paws and body with filler. Do this quite tightly so that the bear does not turn out to be "skinny". Sew the hole in the upper torso. Place the head over and sew with blind stitches.

Fold the front legs in pairs and sew, leaving the top unsewn. Stuff these pieces with filler and sew to the torso. Tie a ribbon or scarf around the bear's neck.

In the same way, you can make other toys from a sock: a kitten or a bunny. It is only necessary to change the shape of the ears at the cutting stage.
