The winter springboard opens up a lot of opportunities for extreme sports - whether it's skiing or snowboarding. With a trampoline, you can broaden your perspective and learn to perform various tricks that are not available on a simple, gentle track. An ordinary springboard consists of acceleration, entrance, the springboard itself, transit, landing and rollout. If you wish, you can build it yourself, and in this article we will describe the technology for building a springboard.
Instructions
Step 1
The springboard, or kicker, is a structure resembling the shape of a triangular prism. The approach to this structure should be shallow and level, allowing, if desired, to reduce the speed from acceleration before you drive onto the surface of the springboard. The landing zone after the main plane of the springboard should go downhill, at an angle of 25-35 degrees, to soften the jump.
Step 2
It is very important to choose the right place to build the springboard. Determine what will be the size of the transit - the section of the springboard through which you will fly after acceleration. These dimensions largely depend on the size of the springboard itself, on the speed of your entry onto the springboard, as well as on the quality of the snow and the type of terrain.
Step 3
For construction, you will need a collapsible avalanche shovel with a metal scoop. Use a shovel to cut the unfrozen snow into blocks and lay the base for the springboard out of the snow blocks. Continuously compact the structure with two to three layers of snow as a base. The springboard should have three walls - a back one and two side walls. Give it the appropriate shape.
Step 4
The width of the springboard should increase and exceed the width of the entrance plane, and the length of the acceleration plane, including the length of the lift-off plane from the springboard, should be 1.5 times the length of your snowboard.
Step 5
Where the springboard ends and its surface touches the ground, compact the exit with snow to smoothly transition the surfaces into each other. Thoroughly compact the constructed springboard and align its plane and top. Remove excess snow, flatten the springboard.
Step 6
Be sure to run in the springboard - after the first ride, you will notice that the snow begins to subside. Reinforce the surface of the springboard, add snow and compact it again, then re-run. Check how the springboard shape suits you, and adjust its shape according to your own preferences.
