What is needed to make a flowerpot
To make a flowerpot, you will need a sharp knife, jigsaw, shovel, paint of different colors, a brush, chalk or marker for marking, soap. If you have a skill, it takes no more than half an hour on average to transform a tire. More time is required for the registration of the finished product.
A pot of tires: original options
The optimal size of the tire from which the container for flowers is made is R12-R17. First you need to cut off one of the lateral sides of the tire, the other must remain intact. To do this, the rubber wheel is laid on the ground, the petals of the upper part of the future flowerpot are drawn on the side canvas with chalk or a marker. It is important to understand that all of these parts must be the same size. Therefore, you need to decide in advance on their number and shape.
The petals can be rounded or acute-angled. An original product will turn out if you first draw, and then cut out, any openwork detail on the top of each of them. For example, the top of the petal can be decorated with an asterisk extending it, several half rings with voids between their outer and inner contours. There are many options, so you can fully use your imagination.
After drawing the pattern, they begin to cut the tire. To do this, use a jigsaw or a knife moistened with soapy water. Then the tire is turned over and a cut is made in a circle or along the lines of the pattern at the point of transition of soft rubber to hard rubber. This part of the wheel will serve as the leg of the flowerpot, so its edges can also be made curly. But the depth of the slots should be small.
Perhaps the most difficult moment in this work is the eversion of the tire. The main difficulty is twisting the first part, then the rubber becomes more pliable. For greater convenience of work, the tire is laid down with the upper part of the future flowerpot. They step on it in the place where the rim passes into the tread, and press it to the ground. Then they begin to turn out the rubber.
Next, the process of product design begins. If there was a wheel rim on the tire, it is carefully primed with an anti-corrosion compound. Before starting work, all the petals are leveled, the cut off bottom sidewall is attached to the wheel rim. Now a flowerpot with a beautiful leg. For coloring rubber, it is advisable to choose light and bright colors, since they fade less in the sun. The final stage is filling the flowerpot with soil.
