People's Artist of Azerbaijan Flora Kerimova was born on July 23, 1941 in an intelligent family. Parents lived in Baku. They had to work hard, because at that time the war had already begun. They did not starve in the house, but they had to save on literally everything. The girl was not pampered and from an early age was prepared for an independent life.
At an early age, the girl demonstrated a unique ability to sing and play music. Flora easily memorized the melodies that she heard on the radio or outside the window. Relatives and acquaintances were surprised at the child's talents, often praised for good performance. However, few people imagined that the girl would eventually become a popular singer. A completely different fate was being prepared for her.
The path to the profession
After graduating from school and receiving secondary education, Flora, on the instructions of her relatives, entered the medical institute. The profession of a doctor has always been respected by the people. The girl herself understood this. However, the circumstances were unconventional. The amateur student ensemble was very popular at the institute. There were more than enough guitarists and drummers, but there were not enough soloists. The girl was accepted into the group after the first audition.
Two years later, Kerimova dropped out of the medical institute and entered the vocal department of the local conservatory. Famous teachers worked with the future star. Long and tedious lessons were not in vain. By the time the training was completed, the working range of Flora's voice was four octaves. Even seasoned experts were surprised at this result. The first performances of the certified singer took place within the walls of the State Philharmonic.
Personal life score
Flora Kerimova's vocal work was highly appreciated. In 1992 she was awarded the title of People's Artist of Azerbaijan. The best composers and poets of the country created songs for her. She has recorded several discs with her voice. The stage career of the singer was developing successfully. However, in the mid-90s, Kerimova became interested in politics and began speaking at rallies. An adequate reaction followed from the side of the authorities. The singer was "closed" on television.
Only a few years later the situation settled down, and Flora returned to the stage. She continued performing on stage and on television. She began to collaborate with young composers.
