Donka is one of the time-tested type of tackle that is used at that time of the year when there is no severe frost. It is very effective for catching bream, as it takes into account the peculiarities of its behavior and lifestyle. This fish lives at depth and prefers pits. Donk is indispensable in windy weather, since at this time there is no chance of catching bream with a float rod.
What is needed for a donkey device
First of all, you need to choose a rod. Any one will do: both short (up to 2 m) and long (more than 3 m). If there is an old spinning rod with a broken tip, it will do too. As a coil, you can use any inexpensive, as a rule, such Chinese-made products. Despite this, it will last a long time, since casts will be quite rare: most of the time in fishing with a donkey is spent waiting for a bite.
Next, you need to prepare the fishing line. It is better if its cross-section is in the range of 0.2-0.35 mm. If you plan to fish in places where the current is rapid, the line should be thicker: 0.3-0.35 mm. The main components of the bottom are as follows: a metal spring, a leash (braided line with a section of 0, 1-0, 2 mm, 10-30 cm long), a fishing hook, a sinker weighing about 50 g (if the current is strong, it is better to use a flat plate, if a pond with oozy bottom - round load).
How to make a donk
First, you need to make several leads with sharp hooks (the optimal size of the rig is # 5 and # 6). Then a line is wound onto a reel attached to a rod. It can be of any length. After that, a sinker is put on the line and fixed so as to exclude free movement, but if necessary, the location of the load could be changed. The simplest version of the donkey is a load fixed at the very end of the line, above which the leashes are tied with hooks. The step between them can be 5-10 cm.
A more improved version of the donkey is a line with a spring located above the sinker. For night fishing use a spring with leashes equal in length. They need to be strengthened at the very beginning. For daytime fishing, two short (5-10 cm) leashes are attached to both ends of the spring.
You can make a rig with a feeder. This will require a galvanized mesh, thin copper wire, and a sinker. A container in the form of a string bag is made of mesh and wire, at the bottom of which a load is placed. In order for it not to move, it is advisable to fix it on the mesh with a bolt and nut. Boiled corn, peas, pearl barley are used as bait. It is important that the consistency of the bait is viscous.
