A sweater or dress with a high neckline in winter is simply irreplaceable. A stand-up collar and a throat will protect and look beautiful. There are many styles of high collars, but most often it fits tightly around the neck. It is most convenient to knit such a neck in a circle.

It is necessary

  • - yarn;
  • - 5 knitting needles for yarn thickness.

Instructions

Step 1

Measure your neck height. The collar should be slightly higher as it is usually done with a small cuff. Add another five centimeters to the measurement.

Step 2

Start knitting on the top of the turtleneck sweater. The collar is made with 1x1 or 2x2 elastic. Link a sample. You can knit a product on top in two ways - with raglan or wedges. In the first case, the number of loops should be divided by 6, in the second - by 4. This is important for the main part of the product, but you need to correctly distribute the loops right away. If their total is not divisible by the number shown, round up.

Step 3

Cast on the desired number of loops and close the knitting in a circle. When knitting raglan, 1/3 of the total are on the shelf and back, and 1/6 on the sleeves. When the product is made with wedges, there is ¼ of the total number of loops on each knitting needle. If you are not yet a very experienced craftswoman, knit the first row with knit ones alone. Remember where you start the row. It can be marked in some way - for example, with a knot.

Step 4

Beginning with the second row, knit a 1x1 or 2x2 elastic. Other types of this pattern are also possible. Knit straight, without adding or subtracting, until raglan or wedges start. Use a little trick to get a smooth elastic. Make the purl loops a little tighter than the front loops. You should have a "pipe". Having tied it to the desired length, proceed to the execution of the raglan or wedges. In the first case, the lines will run along the joints of the shelf and back with the sleeves, in the second - along the center of each part.

Step 5

The high neck can also be tied at the bottom. As a rule, in this case, the sleeve is made set-in. Tie up all the details. It is better not to close the last rows, but to remove them on an additional knitting needle or on a thread. Sew the details. Spread the stitches of the last row evenly over the 4 knitting needles. Knit the collar in a circle with a 1/1 or 2/2 elastic to the desired height. Finish knitting in the usual way for an elastic band, that is, close the front loop with the front one, and the wrong one with the wrong one.

Step 6

If the jacket has a fastener, you can knit a high collar with a double elastic band. With the knitting direction from top to bottom, cast on the knitting needles 2 times more loops than is required for the pattern. It is more convenient to carry out such a collar on knitting needles with a fishing line. Knit the first row with a regular 1x1 elastic band. Starting from the second over the front knit the front one, remove the purl untied, laying the thread in front of it. After tying the neck to the desired height, knit in pairs the front loops with the purl. When knitting a collar with a double elastic band from the bottom up, take from the last row the number of loops equal to what is already on the knitting needles.
