Acoustic guitar lovers often have a problem with the sound of the strings. This makes it difficult to tune and hit the barre at low frets. This is due to the upsetting position of the neck of the guitar. There are models of guitars that do not have this disadvantage. But if you have a problem with the neck, you will have to tune it manually.
It is necessary
- 1) Guitar
- 2) Screwdriver
Instructions
Step 1
The essence of tuning the neck is to adjust its balance relative to the strings of the lower frets. To do this, loosen the strings as much as possible. Once the strings are loosened, you may notice that the neck of the guitar is free to move up and down. If not, use a screwdriver to unscrew the screw that secures the neck to the guitar body.
Step 2
Only loosen the screw so the bar can move. There is no need to unscrew it completely. Now take the neck at the base of the guitar head. Swing it up and down. Notice how the gap between it and the strings changes at the lower frets. Set the gap you want. Ideally, it should be no more than one and a half centimeters. Each guitarist assigns this value differently.
Step 3
Lock this gap by holding the bar in the correct position. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw that secures the neck to the guitar body. Try to keep the bar as stationary as possible, but don't overtighten. Then start tuning the strings. In case of inconvenience, you can repeat the procedure again, finding the balance that you like.
