Many experienced knitters know that the neck of a sweater needs to be knitted depending on its model. It also depends on the threads chosen for knitting, devices in the form of a hook or knitting needles, the shape of the neck, the chosen pattern and the required height of the neck.
It is necessary
- - tape meter
- - knitting needles (regular or circular)
Instructions
Step 1
Knitting a wide neck with a deep round neckline or a slightly square neckline and a knitted sweater: - using a tape meter, carefully measure the neck circumference;
- on the needles, dial the required number of loops that make up the measured circle. Remember that the knitted loops are stretched, so after knitting two rows, check that the resulting and required length is correct;
- With a single or double elastic band or hosiery, knit a ribbon 2-3 cm high if desired;
- carefully close the last row with the front loops, not tightening the loops too much;
- mark the neckline so that the joint of its edges is clearly on the back of the product;
- neatly sew the knitted neck to the sweater with the same threads so that the last closed row is outward with beautiful front loops.
Step 2
Knitting a high neck "under the throat": For knitting a high neck, you can use the previous recommendation, changing only the height of the knitted fabric for the neck. To get a beautiful wrapped neckline, you need to measure the height of the neck and tie the canvas twice as high.
Step 3
Another way to knit a high neck is on circular knitting needles: - dial the required number of loops along the neck of the sewn halves of the product. It can be calculated according to the rows falling on the neck or according to the previously measured neck length;
- tie the required number of rows, but not less than the height of the throat, with a single or double elastic band or hosiery;
- carefully close the hinges of the last row with the front hinges, without tightening them tightly.
Step 4
You may have to knit the neck of a sweater several times to find the most beautiful option. Try both knitting options for the best effect.
