If you are familiar with origami, then you can probably fold many different paper figures, the complexity and beauty of which will depend only on your skill. If the art of folding paper crafts is unfamiliar to you, try making toys using a different technique that is not related to origami. For example, you can craft a beautiful 2D star.
Step 2
Draw two identical stars on sheets of colored paper, and then carefully cut them out. In each star, make a cut from one of the troughs to the center. Connect two stars by inserting one into the other, then attach a paper loop to the toy and hang it on the tree. If you want the toy to look prettier, before connecting the stars, spread glue and glitter, beads, etc. on each.
Step 3
Choose paper in a bright, festive color: gold, silver, red, bright green, or orange. Cut out long strips (each strip should be at least 1 m long) and then accordion fold. On the top fold, draw a simple shape (for example, an asterisk) so that the top and bottom edges of the picture touch the folds and extend slightly beyond them. Then carefully cut out the figurine, without cutting the folds, so that the accordion does not disintegrate. When you're done cutting, stretch the accordion. You will have a luxurious garland of figurines. After making similar garlands from other stripes, decorate the tree or room with them.

The most common New Year paper craft is a snowflake. Take a square piece of paper, fold it several times (for example, in half, again in half, and diagonally) and cut out any patterns. Then unfold the paper and see a lovely carved snowflake.
