One of the best gift options is a book. A clamshell book made of thick paper or made up of pockets, thanks to which you can change pictures or photos, will become a wonderful extraordinary gift for friends and family.
It is necessary
- - sheet of Whatman paper A-1
- - colored paper
- - pencil
- - markers
- - ruler
- - eraser
- - photo album with transparent pockets
- - glue
- - scissors
- - scotch tape
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a subject for your future clamshell book. Decide on page and cover sizes. Lay out a piece of Whatman paper on the table. With a ruler, set aside from the top corners a distance equal to the height of the book page. Connect these points to form a straight line. Use scissors to cut the sheet along it.
Step 2
On the cut-off sheet, using a ruler and a pencil, measure to the right of the corner a distance equal to the width of the page of the future book. From this mark, set aside the same to the right. So mark out the entire sheet to the end. Then mark the underside of the cut sheet in the same way. Connect the dots to form vertical lines. Bend along these lines with a ruler, folding the strip like an accordion.
Step 3
Make monotype prints. From these prints and colored paper, cut out the heroes of the chosen plot. Don't forget to craft elements of the environment for the characters. You can also use fabric to create an applique.
Step 4
Unfold the finished Whatman clamshell on the table. Lay out the cut out parts on each page one by one, making up the intended picture. Glue the elements with a glue stick. To fix the details of the fabric applique, take PVA-K glue.
Step 5
Place the appliqués so that there is space under the pictures for writing text. Write the text in a nice font and design the cover.
Step 6
If you intend to make a photo album or a book with interchangeable pictures from a clamshell book, supplement the pages with pockets. To do this, take sheets with transparent pockets from a regular photo album. Glue each one onto the accordion page of the appropriate size.
Step 7
You can also make a clamshell from transparent pocket pages without using a Whatman base. Tape them together with tape, gluing it on both sides along the edge of the page. Glue the required number of pages and fold in an accordion.
