Coloring pictures is a favorite pastime of many generations of children. Adults are also partial to this activity. At the same time, it is not known what brings more pleasure - coloring with paints or pencils or working with computer programs. However, both directions can be combined, if you draw or download, and then print out the contours of the "coloring", and then make a multi-colored picture already on paper.

  • The pencils
  • Paints
  • Markers

Instructions

Step 1

Find and print the outline drawing. The paper depends on what you are going to paint the picture with. For watercolors, a regular album sheet works best. For felt-tip pens, it is better to use thicker paper or thin cardboard. If you only have pencils or crayons on hand, any paper will work, including the one you would normally use for a printer.

Step 2

It is better to start coloring with large fields. If you paint with paints, paint over the background first, being careful not to go beyond the lines. It will still not work so that the paint does not flow out of the contours at all, so try to keep the irregularities inside the silhouette of the object or figure. Then you fix it anyway.

Step 3

When painting over the background with a pencil, try to make the lines fit tightly, without gaps. Pencils of medium hardness are suitable. The direction of the hatching can be different, depending on the shape of the drawing. Usually, however, the background is filled with straight lines, horizontal or oblique.

Step 4

Color in the finer details of the drawing. If there is no sample in front of you, try to match the colors so that they match the natural ones. Transferring details of clothing, first apply a flat surface, then folds with a darker shading. Shades are obtained by using more or less pressure on the pencil, and also by using different shades of the same color if you are working with paints or felt-tip pens.

Step 5

Apply the smallest details. These can be details of flowers, decor of dishes and buildings. They can be applied with a darker shade of the base color, or with black strokes of a pencil or felt-tip pen. At the final stage, a pencil and crayons can be used even if you painted the rest of the drawing with paints.
