The art of body painting has been living for more than one millennium. But recently, more and more people prefer painting with natural dyes, called mehendi, instead of tattoos. Henna is mainly used as a dye, which will eventually disappear from the skin of the body. Thanks to this, you can apply any pattern you want.
The origin of the drawings on the body
This technique of drawing a picture originated in Ancient Egypt and spread in Eastern and Asian countries. Depending on the culture of the people, its drawing differs. It can be in the form of plants, ornaments or oriental patterns. Henna can be applied to the arms, neck, shoulders, abdomen, thighs and ankles. The most common mehendi on the hands. If you apply the drawing correctly, it can last up to three weeks, brightening every day until it disappears completely.
In order to decorate the body with biotattoo, it is not at all necessary to visit a beauty salon. It is quite possible to make mehendi at home by preparing your own composition for applying the image. The main component is a dye in powder, to which is added a pair of lemons, sugar and tea tree oil.
Important nuances
Before applying the image, the skin should be well prepared. The preparation process includes cleaning with a scrub or peeling, and if necessary, hair should be removed from the part of the skin where the image is planned to be applied. The future color of the biotattoo depends on the chosen place. In addition to this feature, you can change the shade by adding another dye (basma, antimony) to the henna. In the first minutes, the color of the tattoo will be orange, getting darker with every hour. After 48 hours, it will take on a bright reddish brown hue.
The recipe for the preparation of the coloring solution and its application
Sieve the powder in order to avoid difficulties during application. Next, squeeze out the lemon juice and mix with the powder. Remove the resulting composition in a warm place for 12 hours. Then combine it with sugar and essential oil. For 20 g of henna, you should take 50 ml of juice and 1 tsp each. sugar and butter. Having achieved the consistency of toothpaste, remove the finished composition in a warm place for another 12 hours.
Beginners are advised to purchase stencils with ready-made drawings. Lines can be applied with a toothpick, makeup brush or syringe without a needle. The craftsmen apply a preliminary version with a pencil, which is subsequently covered with a coloring composition, and after drying, they are washed off with water.
Such henna drawings on the hands require a long drying time (up to 12 hours). It should be noted that the brightness of the pattern depends on the residence time of the henna solution on the skin. The longer it remains not washed off, the brighter the color of the finished biotattoo will be.
It is allowed to cover the drawing with film, but it is better to create conditions for sunlight to hit it. After complete drying, the henna should be “scraped off”, treated with lemon juice and rubbed in the oil.
