Learning to play the guitar will be easier and faster if you prepare everything you need in advance. Some of the things you need can be bought in the same store as the instrument itself, and some may need to be done by hand.
Case or cover?
The first step is purchasing a cover. Think about what you will wear your guitar in. If the instrument is expensive, it is better to purchase a hard case for it: it will reliably protect the instrument from impacts, changes in temperature and humidity. The cases have only one drawback - they are quite expensive. But for a good guitar, this is ideal. A cheap tool can be carried in a case too. They are of several types. Guitars are often sold in stores along with fabric covers. It is, of course, possible to bring the instrument in such a "shell" once, but it is better to immediately purchase or sew an insulated cover on a padding polyester. The insulated cover can also be sewn with your own hands from calendered nylon, lavsan or leather.
The case is also convenient because you can put other necessary things in it, such as strings, capo, etc.
We fill the case
The guitar needs to be kept in order. To do this, firstly, you need a napkin like the one used to wipe monitor screens. You will also need:
- spare strings;
- a knob for twisting the tuning pegs;
- tuning key (if the guitar has a removable neck);
- tuning fork;
- metronome;
- a pick (except for those who are going to play classical music).
All this can be bought in the same place as the guitar. Just for a napkin, you may have to walk to a computer store. If you can't buy a tuning fork or metronome, don't be discouraged. At first, you can do with electronic ones, since there are these programs on guitar sites.
Anyone who wants to learn to play the classical guitar will need another bench. The pendant will come in handy for future rock musicians or bard song performers.
Do you need notes?
Anyone who is going to play classical music certainly needs to know the sheet music. What kind of collection to buy - the teacher will say. If you're going to learn on your own, buy a 6-string or 7-string tutorial, depending on which instrument you have. For those who want to study only the accompaniment, it is very useful to find a chord guide, a guitar sequence chart, and tablatures of popular songs. The identifier can be in the form of a plate. Tablatures (that is, pictures of which strings you need to press on which fret if you want to play this or that chord) are found in compilations and on popular guitar sites. Tablature will allow you to strike the correct chord even for those who do not know the notes.
Does a guitarist need a computer?
You can, of course, learn to play the guitar without a computer. But special programs make the process much easier. First of all, take a look at GuitarPro. It contains a tuner (autotuner), a determinant, and a sequence. True, the program is licensed, but you can also find free demo versions. In addition, there are analogues. Computer programs are intended primarily for those who play the electric guitar, but will also help those who study the classics.
