For depicting medieval knights, Japanese samurai and other warriors with melee weapons, you will need the ability to quickly and easily draw a variety of swords. The most difficult part of this work is the application of an intricate pattern on the blade and handle and the image of the shine of the metal.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - the pencils;
- - eraser.
Instructions
Step 1
The sword is a fairly simple object - it is a long blade with a hilt. But these weapons have many forms, and the method of their use depends on this factor. The sword in many cultures is a symbol of nobility, therefore, this weapon was often decorated with family coats of arms and mottos. This item is both a work of art, and a heirloom, and a symbol of justice, and a sign of the master's skill.
Step 2
The figure should accurately reflect the structure of the weapon, its combat power and value. The sword consists of a hilt and a blade. Ephesus, in turn, has a pommel, a handle and a guard. The blade can be forged straight, curved (backward or forward), single-edged and double-edged.
Step 3
Choose a sword for your drawing that suits your hero. Find a large, clear photograph so you can see all the details of the model. If the sword is in the hands of the character in the picture, first draw the hero himself and outline the place for the weapon. If you are drawing one blade, sketch out its location on a sheet of paper and its dimensions.
Step 4
Draw a cross with a long crossbar for the hilt and blade and a crossbar for the guard. Draw the pommel as a circle. Extend the handle with two rounded lines on both sides of the axis. Look at the shape of the guard in the photo, try to outline its structure with strokes.
Step 5
If you want a massive two-handed sword, the blade will be long and fairly wide (two-edged). The edge of the sword is also made in different shapes, pay attention to your model.
Step 6
Erase extra lines and make a clear outline of the drawing of the sword. Apply ornament if it is suspected. The handle was often wrapped with leather straps to prevent the warrior's hand from slipping. Reflect these loops in the picture.
Step 7
Refine the drawing and shape of all the details of the sword, make the lines smooth and graceful. A gunsmith's product must be harmonious and respectful. Work with light and shade with soft strokes. Determine the direction of the light source, guided by this factor, shade the details of the sword.
