Mastering any computer program is a process that requires concentration of attention and concentration on the task that needs to be solved. This is especially true of computer-aided design systems - programs aimed at solving engineering problems, such as making drawings, drawing up plans, electronic circuits or creating three-dimensional models of objects.

Instructions
Step 1
Pick a project on which you will work in CAD AutoCAD. This could be a drawing of a simple part such as a bushing or washer. This way you will be able to quickly learn to draw in AutoCAD, since you will implement your project, applying, consolidating and practicing the acquired skills of working in the program.
Step 2
Launch AutoCAD on your computer. The working window of the program will open in front of you. By default, everything you do will be saved in a file called "Drawing1.dwg". Try to immediately assign the file the desired name, for example, "Widget.dwg", and save it in the directory from which it will be more convenient for you to work with it. This can be done by opening the "File" tab and selecting "Save As …".
Step 3
Use the modes "ORTHO" and "BINDING" in the lower part of the working window. This allows you to easily draw perpendicular lines and quickly find nodes, intersections, line midpoints, and circle centers.
Step 4
Click the Draw tab. The necessary tools for making drawings are located here. The Line tool lets you draw straight lines delimited by two points. With the Circle tool, you can draw a circle with a specified radius. Set the length of the line or the radius of the circle in millimeters in the command line of the program located at the bottom of the working window.
Step 5
In the "Editing" tab, select the tools that allow you to modify the drawn object (line, arc, segment, etc.). For example, the Mirror tool can mirror an object about an axis of your choice.
Step 6
Use the help of the program, which can be opened in the corresponding tab "Help". In it you will find a user manual and a command reference, use the search for help topics. If you have not found a question you are interested in, try using the English-language knowledge base or ask a question on the official AutoCAD user forum.
