The patchwork technique "Patchwork" is always relevant. Quite often, leftovers or scraps of various fabrics or outdated clothing accumulate in the house. All this lies in the closets and on the mezzanines as "dead weight", but it is a pity to throw it away. And rightly so! From pieces of different materials you can make amazingly beautiful, fashionable, practical and absolutely exclusive things with your own hands - for example, a vest!
It is necessary
- - multi-colored strips of cotton fabric, matching each other in color, of different widths - from 5 to 8 cm, 60 cm long;
- - cotton fabric for lining and decoration - plain or colored, matching the color scheme to the shreds - width 80 cm, length 1, 2 meters;
- - synthetic winterizer of the same size as the lining fabric;
- - oblique inlay for finishing in the same color range - 4 meters;
- - 10 small bright buttons;
- - graph paper.
Instructions
Step 1
Transfer the pattern from the drawing to graph paper, or print it on a printer in magnification. This pattern is designed for 44 Russian size. To decrease or increase the size of the pattern, you need to add or subtract a few centimeters along the fold lines, along the bottom of the vest and at the shoulders.
Step 2
Lay out the strips of fabric in the desired sequence - so that they blend beautifully with each other, and then sew, leaving 1 cm seam allowances; the seams must be smoothed out on both sides. The result should be two 60 x 60 cm square patchwork.
Fold these canvases in half lengthwise, impose patterns, circle around the contour with chalk, leaving no allowances for the seams. Cut out the front and back of the vest. In the same way, cut out the details from the fabric for the lining and from the padding polyester.
Pins three sheets of front and back with the right sides out, quilting them on the machine - each line should be made 2 mm from each seam into pieces of shreds. Trim off excess fabric, if any, to align all edges.
Step 3
From the bias inlay, make 10 loops in the form of an arrow - as shown in the figure. Sweep them from the inside out to the front of the vest towards the inside, sew. The places where the loops and buttons should be located are indicated on the pattern.
Step 4
With an oblique inlay, trim the vest - first sweep around the entire perimeter, and then stitch on a typewriter. Bend the hinges outward and secure in the desired position. Sew on buttons; if desired, they can be covered with the used fabric.
