Vests have always been an elegant part of any women's outfit. Fabric, fur, suede - they are very comfortable during the demi-season, when it is already hot in a winter jacket, and the spring warmth has not come yet. In such a situation, a stylish, lightweight and at the same time warm vest from an old sheepskin coat, the style of which has gone out of fashion, is very convenient, and you will definitely never wear it again. Following simple instructions, you can sew the vest yourself.
It is necessary

Instructions
Step 1
Take a measurement: measure the circumference of the waist, chest, hips and the length of the future vest.
Step 2
Build a pattern. On paper, draw a rectangle with a length equal to the circumference of the chest and a width equal to the length from the shoulder. Draw the outlines of the armholes and necklines. To do this, take a ready-made vest that matches your size, attach it to the pattern, and then circle the line of the neckline and armholes.
Step 3
Open or cut the old sheepskin coat along the seams. Inspect the surface, if there are worn or shiny spots on it, take this into account when cutting.
Step 4
Lay fabric wrong side up and transfer to pattern. If the sheepskin coat is long, put the pattern not across (so that it roughly coincides with the front and back), but along the back. Then there will be no side seams in your pattern, this will make your vest look sleeker and more voluminous, in addition, it will be easier to sew.
Step 5
Cut out the details of the vest with sharp scissors. If the fur is long and difficult to mark, simply pin the pattern with pins and cut the pieces right with it, leaving seam allowances. Cut off the corner of the neckline and armhole.
Step 6
Prepare the lining fabric and cut the lining to fit the pattern.
Step 7
Sew the top and lining of the vest together using the sewing machine. Connect the back with the shoulder seams of the shelf, turn the vest out there, do it through the neckline. Sew the neckline with blind stitches.
Step 8
If the fabric from the old sheepskin coat remains, make a stand-up collar pattern. Cut strips equal in size to the neck circumference and 10 cm wide. Sew them together, turn them out there, sew to the neck. Add decorative items from the fur of the same sheepskin coat, choosing the fluffiest and most intact spots.
Step 9
Decorate your vest otherwise it will look boring. For decoration, you can use various decorations: beads, satin ribbons, various fasteners. Experiment. Use a belt, it will give the vest a personal style, or make a belt out of satin ribbons. Add decorative items from the fur of the same sheepskin coat, choosing the fluffiest and most intact spots.
