Frameless furniture has long become popular all over the world and is gaining more and more fans in Russia. The advantages of frameless furniture are obvious - it is comfortable, suitable for modern design and gives endless scope for creativity to people who want to sew it on their own.
Materials (edit)
Before sewing frameless furniture with your own hands, you need to choose a high-quality reliable fabric for the outer cover, comfortable fabric for the inner cover and, finally, the amount of expanded polystyrene that will be needed in the form of furniture filler. Also, before looking for a pattern, go through the shops of the city in search of materials of the desired quality: fabric, thread and filler (often sold in hardware stores). It is advisable to use a dense non-synthetic fabric for the outer cover, which is pleasant to the touch and does not cause an allergic reaction.
Sewing process
Having decided on the materials and general style, you need to start making a pattern. It should not be forgotten that beanbag, like any fabric product, depends on how successful the patterns will be used as the basis for the product. On the Internet, you can find a large number of simple and understandable patterns for frameless furniture: the choice is not limited to armchairs and ottomans, you can also find patterns of mattresses that are more similar in size to mattresses or sofas or charming star armchairs with comfortable armrests-rays.
Having decided on the pattern, it is worth printing it out and cutting out the fabric for the outer and inner covers, and then sew them on a sewing machine. When sewing, it is worth using only high-quality threads, since weak threads can fall apart over time. If the fabric used for sewing the outer cover does not "breathe", it is better to make a few holes in the upper part of the product and fix them with eyelets (in this case, you will need a special grommet and a set of eyelets matching the color of the fabric).
The filler is stuffed into the inner cover for 2/3 of the capacity. A larger amount will not give such convenience and the ability to change shape. Smaller, on the other hand, will allow the chair to "spread" on the floor, which will bring discomfort to the owner. To make the bag look bulkier and softer, you can add synthetic fluff, which is sold in all sewing stores, to the polystyrene.
If filler remains in the process of sewing frameless furniture, you should not throw it away. Polystyrene can creep over time from constant weight and the rest of the balls will help to restore softness and ease of use to the beanbag chair.
You can sew several different outer covers in order to change them during washing or modify the interior in this way. A set of 2-3 poufs of a similar color scheme looks very good.
