Children are attracted by everything unusual: tricks, tricks, experiments. However, uncontrolled play with chemicals or matches can result in accidents. To prevent self-experimentation from leading to disaster, show the children safe and interesting experiences.
Experiments for children at home are impossible without the availability of suitable tools. Prepare everything you need for the experiments in advance and put it in a nice box. For children 5-7 years old, you can add a play element - a magic book of experiments. Experiments like this will help distract your child from the computer and usefully spend time with the whole family. Engage the child with a phrase in the spirit of a fairy tale or a magical story: "It's time to pass on the secrets of our family to you …". Older children are no longer interested in a fairy tale, they can be interested in competition: “Do you want me to show you one trick? Can you repeat it?"
One of the most favorite experiences for children is controlling objects or elements. Try the Egg Control experience. You will need: a wooden sushi stick or an ultra-thin plastic tube, an egg, a piece of silk cloth, a large saucer, paper tape, an awl or a large needle, putty (proofreader or white paint).
Take a raw chicken egg, poke small holes on both sides (parallel to each other), gently blow on one side to release the contents (use the insides at your discretion - either pour or cook the omelet). Dry the empty egg with a hairdryer, seal the holes with paper tape and cover with corrector or white paint so that the tape merges in color with the shell.
Place the saucer in the center of the table, place the egg on the plate. Electrify the wand well by rubbing it with a silk cloth. Move the stick close to the egg (without touching the shell). Due to electrostatic attraction, the empty egg will follow the pointer, creating the effect that you are controlling the egg with the power of thought.
Sometimes experiments for children at home do not even require any additional funds and efforts. For example, the Hole in the Palm experiment requires only a piece of paper. Take a sheet of paper and roll it into a tube about 2 cm in diameter. Place a table / chair at a distance from the participant and place an object (vase, flower, etc.) on it. Have a child take a homemade telescope in his left hand and look at an object with his left eye (while the right one is closed).
Continuing to hold the pipe in the right direction, the child should bring his right palm to the right eye at a distance of 15-20 cm (the edge of the palm should be in contact with the pipe, while the opening of the pipe cannot be closed). Ask your child to open their other eye and look at the object with both eyes. Due to the effect of stereo cinema and synchronous operation of the eyes, the right palm will merge with the pipe, and the effect will be as if you are looking at an object through a hole in your palm.
Logic experiments for children are also popular. Have you tried to distract the child from the computer with a logical test "Move the pyramid", when circles in the form of a pyramid, strung on one stick for a certain number of moves, need to be shifted to another, observing the dimensions? The experience can be made more interesting by using coins and lids instead of circles and sticks.
You will need five coins in denominations of 5, 2, 1 rubles, 50 and 10 kopecks, as well as three large can lids. Stack the coins in a pyramid (from largest to smallest) on the first cover. Invite the participant to transfer coins to the same pyramid on the third cover in 31 moves. It's always fun to watch the attempts, not everyone gets the job done.
And the solution to the experiment is very simple - mentally mark the coins with letters: A - 5 rubles, B - 2 rubles, C - a ruble, D - 50 kopecks, D - 10 kopecks. The covers will be numbers 1, 2, 3.
