For a girl to go to a gymnastic circle or perform in competitions, a gymnastic leotard is simply necessary. Better just two. One is for training, the other is for demonstration performances. And if a simple swimsuit for training their cotton jersey can be bought in the store, and very inexpensively, then swimwear for performances is a headache for many mothers. It is expensive, and the girl is growing fast!

It is necessary

  • - jersey;
  • - sewing machine with overlock;
  • - needle;
  • - nylon threads;

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare everything you need: choose knitwear with lycra so that the swimsuit stretches well. The needle should be taken with a blunt tip, it does not pierce the fabric, but pushes it apart, also take special threads, stretching like Nylon.

Step 2

Measure the girl with a centimeter. Necessary measurements: waist circumference, chest circumference, sleeve length, length of the front and back to the waist. Make a leotard pattern on a sheet of Whatman paper. To do this, take your daughter's most comfortable panties and outline them on the paper front and back. Then enlarge the sidecut on the thigh a bit (don't overdo it, little girls don't go too far) for ease of movement.

Step 3

Unstrap the girl's old T-shirt, attach it with the bottom edge to the pattern of the panties and also outline. Consider the length of the shirt and the height of the panties. Outline the sleeves of the T-shirt by extending them along the side seams to the desired length.

Step 4

Cut out a paper pattern. Spread the knitted fabric on the table and cut out parts of the future swimsuit from it, making seam allowances of 1.5-2 cm.

Step 5

Sweep the swimsuit, try it on the girl. Mark the depth of the neckline at the front and back (it is deeper in swimsuits than in T-shirts, but again, do not overdo it, consider the age of the child). Leave seams for seams.

Step 6

Cut out strips of jersey 5 cm wide and with a total length equal to the circumference of the neckline for undercutting.

Step 7

Sew the side seams on the machine using the special knit needle and stitch mode. Overcast seams. Also sew the shoulder seams, the bottom seam at the bottom of the leotard. Sew the side seams of the sleeves, sew them in carefully.

Step 8

Trim the neckline with undercut. To do this, stitch a strip of bias jersey to the neckline face-to-face. Fold the strip inside out, gently tuck it once, and baste it over your swimsuit. Sew from the right side.

Step 9

Trim the bottom of the swimsuit panties and the bottom of the sleeves. Fold the seam allowances over to the wrong side and sew straight along the edge. When sewing the bottom of the panties from the inside of the thigh, insert an additional cotton gusset into the bottom of the panties inside the swimsuit.

The swimsuit is ready. Decorate it with sequins and applique.
