Many children love to play with puppets: these controlled dolls are capable of quite accurately imitating the movements of people. You can make puppets for the game yourself, together with your child - this is an interesting activity that will surely suit his taste.
It is necessary
- - papier mache;
- - polymer clay;
- - tennis ball;
- - the cloth;
- - thick threads;
- - a small plastic bottle;
- - awl;
- - wire;
- - fishing line;
- - glue;
- - paper;
- - plasticine;
- - scotch tape;
- - wooden planks;
- - clothespins.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to make the head of the puppet. To do this, you can use various materials: papier-mâché, polymer clay, or a tennis ball covered with fabric. The last option is the simplest, but the first two allow you to make the dolls' faces more believable and expressive (in the third case, the eyes, mouth and nose are simply drawn on the fabric). Make the puppet's hair out of thick threads.
Step 2
For the doll's body, a small plastic bottle - cylindrical or any other shape - is best suited. In it, punctures are made for the arms and legs using an awl. A wire is threaded inside, at the ends of which the loops are bent - these are the "shoulders" and "pelvis". The arms and legs will be attached to the loops.
Step 3
The arms and legs should be movable in the knee and elbow joints - for this, each limb is made of two parts. The easiest way is to make them from pieces of strong fishing line fastened together: paper greased with glue is wound around them, cut into strips - it turns out that each arm and leg consists of two paper rolls, movably interconnected. This design of the dolls will allow you to better control them. Brushes and feet can be made from plasticine, thread, or paper.
Step 4
The second option for making limbs is to make each one not from a fishing line, but from two pieces of thin wire, wrapping them with paper or foil, which are fixed with threads or tape. In this case, hands and feet can be made from polymer clay.
Step 5
Sew clothes and headwear for the doll, put it on. Making the D-piece to make the puppet move is the hardest part of the job. It is made of wood. To do this, you will need three strips of different lengths - 25, 15 and 13 cm ("main", "front" and "back"), for the manufacture of which you can use ordinary school rulers. On the main strip, the longest, a clothespin is glued along: the front strip 15 cm long will be held with it perpendicular to the main one. For the puppet to dance or walk, you will need to remove the front bar from the clothespin and operate it separately. The back bar is fixed motionless, approximately in the middle of the main one, also perpendicular to it.
Step 6
Attach the fishing line to control the doll: the head and neck are attached to the back bar, the hands and knees are attached to the front. If you make a small loop on the back of the doll and attach a fishing line to the main bar, the puppet will be able to tilt.
