These dolls were first used in Venice for church holidays. Today, a puppet is a type of theatrical puppet. However, you can do it yourself at home. The main thing is to come up with an image for the puppet, correctly attach it with threads to the fasteners and learn how to control it.

Instructions
Step 1
Let's make the doll's head. Cut a 30x30 cm square from canvas or any other plain light fabric. Cover a tennis ball with this fabric, tying the ends of the fabric with a thick thread several times. Cut off 20 cm of wire. Pierce it through the head at the ears. Use a pair of pliers to make eyelets at both ends of the wire. Make eyes and a nose out of colored paper. Stick it on your head. Cut 10-12 strips 2-3 cm long from a ball of woolen thread. Collect them in two bundles. This will be the puppet's hair. Attach them with glue on both sides of the head (somewhere above the intended ears).
Step 2
To make the doll's body, wash and dry the plastic bottle well. Using a darning needle, make 4 through punctures in the bottles in those places where the doll's arms and legs will be attached (in the lower part - 3 punctures: 2 at the legs and 1 at the back). Cut the wire into 5 equal 20 cm pieces. Pass these pieces through all 5 holes. The end of each is a loop. All of them at the base of the bottle must be secured with tape.
Step 3
To make the doll's arms and legs, cut 8 pieces of fishing line (20 cm each). Fold strips of 25x8 cm from each sheet of newspaper. Take 1 strip, put fishing line on its very edge (its ends should protrude beyond the newspaper strip at an equal distance). Twist the strip into a roll, secure the end with tape. On one of the remaining parts of the line, wind 1 more of the same newspaper roll. Everything: one hand or leg is ready. Do the same with the remaining blanks. As a result, you should get 2 legs and 2 arms (each part consists of 2 rolls).
Step 4
Attach the arms and legs to the loops on the doll's body. To make the hands and feet, cut 40 strips of 5 cm long from colored paper, divide them into 4 parts, tie each in half, attach to the arms and legs. Sew pants and a jacket out of the fabric, put them on the doll. Sew a hat on your head.
Step 5
Make fasteners to control the puppet. Make 3 wood planks. In the main one (25 cm), drill one hole at one of the ends, in the front (15 cm) - 1 hole on each end, in the back (13 cm) - 2 holes on each edge. Fasten all of these planks so that the front and back are perpendicular to the main plank. Pass the fishing lines through all the holes of the fastener, the other end of which is attached to the eyelets on the doll.
