Hand-made toys have a special charm. They can be different: funny, funny and sad. Sewing soft toys is a wonderful hobby for both children and adults.
It is necessary
- - pieces of fabric;
- - threads;
- - needles;
- - pieces of skin;
- - small buttons;
- - foam rubber, synthetic winterizer or holofiber.
Instructions
Step 1
Get everything you need for sewing ready. Toys can be sewn from a wide variety of materials. Pieces of fur, coat fabrics, felt, fleece, corduroy, calico and so on are suitable. You should start with non-flowing fabrics that are easy to process: drape, fleece or felt.
Step 2
You can sew parts by hand with a buttonhole or over the edge, or using a sewing machine, so stock up on needles of different thicknesses and sizes.
Step 3
As a filler for toys, a synthetic winterizer, holofiber, pieces of foam rubber, remnants of fur or fabric, cotton wool are suitable. If you want to stuff the toy with cotton, you should first gut it slightly. Fill in small details (paws, tail, ears) with a pencil.
Step 4
Transfer the pattern of the toy to cardboard or a sheet of thick paper, mark all the small details, darts, the location of the paws, eyes, etc. Sign each detail and write down the quantity to be cut.
Step 5
Lay out the details of the pattern on the seamy side of the fabric and circle with a chalk or pencil. Cut out the parts, leaving 0.5 cm for seam allowances. Please note that double parts for the head, torso, abdomen, and legs must be cut out in a mirror image.
Step 6
First, make small seams, darts, sew the forehead and chin to the head from the mark to the mark indicated on the pattern. Then put the details of the head together, sew them on the torso, leaving the holes in the neck unstitched. Through them you will need to fill the toy with filler.
Step 7
The stitches should be small and neat. Place them as often as possible.
Step 8
Fill in the details of the toy, sew the head and body with blind stitches. Fold the parts of the paws with each other, sew, leaving an open hole, stuff and sew to the body.
Step 9
The eyes of the toy can be made from buttons, embroidered with woolen threads, or glue on ready-made blanks for toys that are sold in handicraft stores.
Step 10
Make a nose from a piece of leather, foam rubber or embroider with woolen threads. The toy can be given any facial expression and character.
