Fishing is a constant hobby of many people from all over the world. Hunting for fish with a simple float rod is an enduring popularity among fishermen. This is one of the most sporting and interesting types of fishing. The success of rod fishing depends a lot on how you rig the rod.

Step 1
Equip your rod with line guides. The rings allow you to smoothly distribute the weight of the fish throughout the rod, prevent its uneven bending and breakage during strong jerks. The rings also prevent the line from tangling while the rod is in use. Place one ring at the end of each telescopic rod section. On the knees of collapsible rods, several rings can be installed (depending on the length of the knee).
Step 2
Place the line reel on the rod. Depending on the intended type of fishing, you can install a guiding or non-inertia reel. For ease of use, it is better to opt for the inertia-free option, although it is more expensive. Most rods are now equipped with standard reel seats. If present on the rod, simply insert the ends of the reel retainer bar under the reel seat couplings and tighten the hold-down nut. If there is no reel seat, then you should either install it yourself, or use insulating tape to secure the coil.
Step 3
Fill the spool with the required amount of line. Select a line according to the expected weight and type of fish that will be fished with the rod being rigged. For a small fish, a thin (approximately 0.15-0.17 mm) line will do. To catch strong fish weighing 1 kilogram or more, you should take a strong line with a diameter of 0.25 mm.
Step 4
Equip your rod with a float, sinkers, leash and hooks. Run the line through all the rings on the rod. Thread the line into the float attachment system. Secure the float with rubber rings. If necessary, tie a metal leash to the end of the line (it is used, for example, when fishing for pike with live bait). Attach the hook to the line or leash. Pick up leads of the required weight and fasten them to the line.
