The equipment of the ice fishing rod depends on the type of ice fishing, and therefore on the temperament and preferences of the fisherman. An active method of fishing is considered to be trolling, it is characterized by drilling a large number of holes and significant movement in the reservoir. Fishing with bloodworms and jigs is less active. Hence, there is some difference in the equipment of the fishing rod and the equipment of the fisherman.

Step 1
Try equipping your rod for jigging. It should be light, small in size, with a "warm" handle. A nod is an integral part of such a rod. Its purpose is to be sensitive to the appearance of fish, and it is made from a variety of materials - from boar bristles to spring steel and rubber. The reel is small, the line is thin (no more than 0.15 m). The color of the fishing line is selected taking into account the water of the reservoir where the fishing takes place. It is very convenient when the jig rods are equipped with a support that allows you to place it near the hole.

Tie one or two jigs to the fishing line, the lower one is larger. In winter, such a jig is used to catch perch, roach, and bastard. Use maggots or bloodworms - the squeak mosquito larva as bait. To catch pike perch in winter on the current, the jig tackle is equipped with a thicker fishing line, large jigs in the form of a droplet, a rigid fishing rod with a nod. Fry, for example, tulka, is put on the hooks of the jigs. For catching carp, an even thicker fishing line with a heavy jig-ball at the end is used.
Step 3
Equip your bait rod. To catch a predator, for example, zander, a rigid rod with a nod is used, a large reel with a good stopper. The best material is frost-resistant plastic. The rod should be strong and not afraid of accidental impacts on the ice. A line of 0.25-0.3 mm is used, which ends with a swivel with a fastener.
Step 4
Prepare a variety of baubles. It can be vertical spinners of the "china" type with a light-accumulating effect, "three-edge", two-color spinners, spinners of the "castmaster" type, "tube". All of them can be equipped with a tee with a glowing bead or a piece of bright insulation. In addition, pike perch are caught on a large balance beam equipped with a threesome. Tackle for perch is similar - used balancers with a bright color, such as "perch", as well as a large vertical spoon with a small jig attached to it.
