Many anglers who are fond of winter fishing ask how to properly tie jigs. Of course, this skill is not difficult to learn. However, by reading our guidelines, you can speed up the process. You can tie jigs in several ways. Each of them has both tangible advantages and obvious disadvantages. We will analyze two ways of tying jigs to fishing line, which are considered the most simple and effective.
Instructions
Step 1
Pass the fishing line through the hole in the body of the jig from the top side, then tie a regular knot. Wrap the line around the jig three or four times. It is advisable to wet the fishing line beforehand. Now tighten the loop and put it on the hook. Now it remains to tighten the knot tighter. The jig is tied. As you can see for yourself, the method is very simple. With its help, even a novice fisherman can tie the jig to the fishing line.
Step 2
And here is the second method: pass the line through the hole in the body of the jig using the method described above. Then form a loop along the base of the hook. Then wrap the free end of the line around the loop and the base of the hook five to seven times.
Step 3
Now follow these simple steps: thread the free end of the line directly into the loop window. But before tightening the knot, moisten the fishing line in the place of the future knot, and then carefully and evenly tighten the line. The jig and line are now one whole.
Step 4
The advantage of both the first and second methods is undeniable. It is very easy to tie a jig in any weather right on the fishing trip. However, the article would be incomplete if it did not list the main disadvantages of the methods listed above. And they (disadvantages) are. The first is a heavy load on the node. Because of it, the strength of the fishing line is lost at the point of tying the knot. And the second drawback is the danger of rubbing the fishing line against the pointed edges of the mounting holes of the jigs, made of tungsten.
