Despite the active struggle for the viewer, it is usually almost impossible to choose something interesting or cognitive on the central television channels during the rare hours of rest. If you are also a resident of a small town, then the choice of channels is limited to 6-7, and in some regions even 1-2. How to be? Select and install a satellite dish!
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a satellite dish based on the size of the parabolic mirror and the purchasing power of your wallet. With each centimeter added to the diameter of the plate, the cost of this and the cost of installation work increases.
Step 2
Antennas made of steel are considered to be the most durable and least long-lived antennas, they are also the most profitable in terms of price-quality ratio. If you can afford a more expensive and higher quality option, choose an aluminum plate.
Mesh or plastic antennas may not withstand winds, so take into account the degree of openness of the satellite dish to frequent gusty air currents in your area.
Step 3
Ask about the reception quality of the selected antenna. There are not many options here: offset or direct focus. The first is more convenient for installation, since it does not require a strong tilt, suffers less from natural phenomena, and also the converter on such an antenna does not interfere with signal reception. With direct focus reception, the signal quality depends on the diameter of the dish.
Step 4
Select a satellite suitable for your area. The rotary antenna option should be selected only if you want to watch channels not from one, but from several satellites. This option will also affect the cost of a satellite dish.
Step 5
Think about the fact that pivots can be capricious in the cold, and that they should be protected from rain and snow, which means installing the antenna under a canopy - the signal quality will decrease. Opt for a standard metal mount. It is enough to install several converters in order to receive signals from several satellites without changing the position of the dish. Invest in a special device that switches converters.
Step 6
Connect the satellite dish to the TV using a normal cable with an impedance of about 75 ohms. Between the antenna and the TV, as mentioned above, connect the receiver, use a regular line-in input.
Step 7
Check out the equipment and channels offered by licensed vendors. Buy a card to watch channels from any of the satellite TV providers. Order plate mounting and equipment connection also from specialists, do not skimp on quality.
Step 8
Enjoy the huge variety of TV shows available to you from the moment you install and connect your satellite dish.
