Latin American dances correct the figure, strengthen muscles, teach plasticity and simply bring joy. Like other dances, they allow you to throw off the burden of gray weekdays and enter the realm of rhythm and music. But in order for the dance to bring joy, you need to perform it correctly.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember that learned basic movements and basic steps will not be enough for you. Steps back and forth on wooden legs, red with effort, a concentrated face and ridiculous hand waving are not Latin American dances. To dance beautifully, you need to tone your muscles a few weeks before the start of classes and remember such a phenomenon as a muscle corset. Start running, doing exercises. If you have problems with the spine or joints, it is better to eliminate them: they will not only prevent you from dancing beautifully, but can also be aggravated by too much physical exertion.
Step 2
"Feel" Latin American rhythms: more often watch competitions, special programs during which these dances are performed, listen to music. You can even try dancing by imitating athletes or professional dancers. But remember: you can really learn to dance only under someone's sensitive guidance.
Also, before starting classes, find yourself a partner. It is best if it is a loved one. You can call a friend who would like to learn to dance. With a person you know well, you will not feel shy, afraid of mistakes; if you step on his toes, it will not be such a disaster for you as with a partner you selected already in the course. Just do not drag an experienced bore with you to the dance: such a person will only slow you down, and the chances that he will be imbued with dancing so much that he will forget about his boringness are negligible.
Step 3
Of course, you can't do without steps, but there is such a thing as basic movements. They can be practiced while standing in one place. Do not be offended and do not sulk at the teacher if he makes you work and does not let you float freely along the waves of the dance. He knows better, believe me. By practicing the simplest movements, he prepares you for the future dance. If you train your body to move in the way the Latino requires, it will be easier for you to "glue" all the circuits into a single whole.
Step 4
Develop a sense of rhythm. This is the key point. Every Latin American dance - cha-cha-cha, rumba, salsa, samba - has its own rhythm and tempo, and if you don’t learn it, you don’t even have to wear special dancing shoes. Before you "start dancing", learn to tap the rhythm with your hand, get used to it. It should sound in your head whenever you dance. The next important step is to synchronize this rhythm, pulsating in your ears, with the movement of your legs and arms. Only after that can you pair up with your partner and learn to keep the same rhythm with him and not knock each other out.
Step 5
Never stop practicing. Skip a couple of classes - this is a week or two - and it will already be difficult for you to tone yourself, tighten the necessary muscles and move, obeying the rhythm. Therefore, practice at home more often (especially if your dance partner is also a life partner), do not spend a day without repeating steps and movements.
