You can learn painting on your own. The main thing is to show your work to professionals from time to time and adequately treat possible criticism. And you can start by drawing flowers, first in pencil, then in pastels. And only after these techniques are mastered, you can move on to oil. Then you will no longer draw, but write.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start writing an oil painting, prepare a sketch of your future painting. You can draw it in pencil on a piece of paper or apply it directly to the canvas using a sketch or copying a reproduction or photograph. Keep track of the spatial and color composition. Even the smallest petal, written with errors, can ruin the picture.
Step 2
It is best to start writing from the upper left corner of the canvas. By default, the lightest or most significant area of the picture is almost always located there, which is associated with the peculiarities of human light and color perception. For example, place a light orange rose there. Mark the edging of the petals with dotted strokes, then blend them slightly, gradually moving towards the core of the bud. It is better to immediately paint the stem with long smooth strokes: in the middle with a lighter paint, on the sides - with a darker paint.
Step 3
Flowers such as pansies are much easier to depict on canvas than it might seem at first glance. However, watch out for the color transitions and do not write them all in the same manner, so that they do not look flat. Here, on the contrary, one should start from the core, slowly moving towards the edge of each petal.
Step 4
Watch out for white. Do not forget that even if you only want to depict a bouquet of daisies, each petal will be different from the other, so each time you may need a different shade and a different brushstroke technique.
Step 5
Small flowers (for example, lilac) can be drawn accurately, petal by petal (just observe the correct location) or shade the paint a little, marking only the core of each of them.
Step 6
If you intend to paint a vase, immediately take this into account both in the composition on the canvas and in the light-color transitions. Do not forget that the composition can be hopelessly ruined if you place the center of the bouquet strictly in the middle of the canvas. If this happens, place in the upper right corner or closer to the lower left some flower, stem, petal that will balance it a little.
