Chess is a popular and addicting game that can be played at home, on vacation, on the train or even outdoors. For her you need: a set of figures - they can be made even from paper - and a board. The board must be drawn on a sheet of plywood, thick cardboard, or just on the asphalt.

How to draw a chessboard

It is necessary

  • - a sheet of thick cardboard;
  • - ruler;
  • - a simple pencil;
  • - black felt-tip pen;
  • - nitro paint or autoenamel of white and black colors;
  • - flat bar;
  • - roulette;
  • - a piece of chalk.

Instructions

Step 1

Start drawing a checkerboard with the markup. Draw a square on a piece of cardboard. Divide the top and bottom lines into eight equal parts. Connect each pair of dots with a straight line. Make sure they are parallel. Lines can also be drawn by hand, but in order for the board to look beautiful, it is better to do this with a ruler.

Step 2

Divide the left and right sides into eight equal parts. Connect pairs of points with parallel lines. You ended up with something like a grid.

Step 3

Write Latin letters under the bottom row of cells. The first cell will be above the letter a, the second - b, etc. The cell on the far right should be marked with the letter h. On the left, write a column of numbers. The bottommost cell will be 1, the topmost 8.

Step 4

Color the lower left cell with the letter a and the number 1 in black. Leave the cell next to it white. Cells c1, e1 and g1 will also be black. In the leftmost row, from bottom to top, paint over cells 3, 5 and 7 with black.

Step 5

In the second row, paint in black the squares located between the black cells of the first row. Color the rest of the rows in the same way.

Step 6

The big chess board can be drawn directly on the pavement. Take a straight rail and draw a straight line along it. Measure on it a segment that can be divided into eight equal parts. It can be two meters for large wooden chess or four to eight meters for living pieces.

Step 7

From the ends of the line, draw perpendiculars equal in length to it. For this, you can use a tailor's or any other large square. Connect the ends of the perpendiculars. It is most convenient to divide the sides of a square into eight parts using a tape measure. On the rail, connect the points in pairs.

Step 8

Paint the squares with nitro paint. First fill in squares of the same color and let them dry. After that, paint over the rest of the cells. For such a board, choose a place where there are not very many pedestrians and cars. This can be, for example, a playground or a sports ground in the yard.
