Making photo collages is a fun activity not only for professional photographers, but also for amateurs. Collages do not require any special knowledge and there are lightweight freeware programs and online editors.
Collage Maker
The easiest and most common way to create collages is with Picasa. Picasa is a fairly popular replacement for the preinstalled image viewer from Windows, and allows you to not only view images, but also make easy photo adjustments. To create a collage in Picasa, you need to open the necessary files in edit mode, select "create" in the control panel and open "create a photo collage". By doing so, you can create collages of different shapes, sizes and grid spacing. Collages are saved in the Picasa folder under Pictures. The resulting image can also be edited (change exposure, white balance, saturation) and in "Picass", and in any other editor program.
Free software Photo Collage Max offers a large number of collage backgrounds (pictures for greeting cards, calendars, etc.). Unfortunately, this is where its merits are exhausted, since it is virtually impossible to edit in it.
The Russian program Photo COLLAGE provides a free trial version (10 days) and a paid one, which is updated annually. There are quite a few types of backgrounds in Photo Collage, there are good tools for creating beautiful inscriptions. The program interface works in Russian, which makes it easy to understand.
More professional collages with multiple exposure effects and working with layers can be done using Adobe Photoshop for photographers. Since Photoshop is a professional program, each collage will be individual (Adobe does not provide templates).
Online Editors
In addition to the programs installed on the PC, there are also online editors, among other functions of which there is the creation of photo collages. The easiest and most convenient to use site is Fotor.ru, where you can not only create a collage, but also apply various filters to the resulting image, subject it to color correction, light retouching or cropping. In addition to creating a collage, on the site you can compose a stylish postcard using your photo and prepare photos and collages for printing.
The most popular collage editor is Instagram. You can create a collage on Instagram directly from a smartphone or tablet, from photos that were taken on a mobile device. Such a collage will not look very good in print, but it will look good on social networks or on a personal computer screen.
