Step 1
You can make a box out of wood, although this work is quite laborious. To make your work easier, all spare parts for the box can be purchased at a specialized store. There, all the details are already adjusted to the size you need. You can also choose a theme to decorate the item and don't forget to buy a varnish for the finish. And who doesn't want to bother with the design, make a box out of cardboard. Now you can start filling the box. You will need a musical card, or rather, its mechanism, a 1 cm wide strip cut from a plastic bottle, and a furniture stapler with staples.
Step 2
Open the box, on the lid, between the hinges, attach a strip cut from a plastic bottle with a stapler. It should run down the back of the box, making contact without hindrance when the lid is opened. After attaching a paperclip to the back of the box, pass the paperclip underneath it. Thus, when the box is opened to the maximum, the plastic strip does not come out of the paper clip, and when closed it does not reach the bottom of the box.
Step 3
In the lower part, install the musical element from the card so that when closed, the plastic strip opens the contact of the musical element of the card. Now you need two cardboard boxes to fit the size of the back wall of the box. In one, carefully cut out the holes for the mechanism, glue the wall. On the other, glue the velvet or the material with which you will decorate the box from the inside and attach it to the first. Next, sheathe the remaining planes with material. The music box is ready.
