It is necessary

  • - a diagram of the pattern that you are going to embroider;
  • - threads for embroidery of suitable colors;
  • - removable canvas;
  • - brightly colored threads for basting;
  • - a needle for embroidery;
  • - hoop.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose a wardrobe item that you want to embellish with cross stitching. Give preference to items made from cotton, linen or woolen fabrics with simple weaving of warp and weft threads. Do not stop your choice on knitted things, they take the shape of the body, and the embroidery will pull them together. In addition, if you want to embroider a large pattern, give preference to a thing with a simple cut without a lot of darts or bends in the details.

Step 2

Choose the motif you want to embroider on your clothes. You can embroider a pattern in the form of a tape with a repeating pattern, such ornaments look good along the straight edge of the product, for example, along the hem or neckline of a shirt. In addition, you can choose a separate motif in the form of a flower, an animal or a symbol.

Step 3

Find your embroidery thread. If you want to embroider on linen or cotton fabric, use a floss, and for woolen fabric, a special embroidery wool is more suitable.

Step 4

Iron out the part of the product where the work will be done.

Step 5

With a basting stitch on this part of the garment, secure a piece of the fabric to be removed of a suitable size. Be sure to align the thread of the sub-canvas with the weave of the fabric to be embroidered. In order to check yourself during work, lay additional basting seams corresponding to the center of future work.

Step 6

Hoop the material of the garment so that the intended design is exactly in the center. Start embroidering.

Step 7

Tuck the long ends of the threads into the weaves on the back. Remove the auxiliary canvas, it is either pulled by hand or dissolves in water. Wash the product in cold water, wring out.

Step 8

Place the washed item with the wrong side up on a soft flannel cloth. Iron the product.
