Instructions
Step 1
For each region, the timing of planting bulbs is not the same. When planting in autumn, you need to take into account the temperature regime of the area.
Step 2
Start planting about a month before the onset of cold weather, because the bulbs need to take root before the first frost. By measuring the temperature of the soil at a depth of 15 cm, if it stays at + 10 ° C, you can safely start planting the bulbs.
Step 3
Before planting tulips, you need to select and prepare the soil, it is best to do this two weeks before planting. Tulips love rather loose fertile soils and sunny areas; this is the key to the abundant flowering of tulips. The soil is dug to a depth of 35 cm with compost, wood ash, phosphorus fertilizer added in advance.
Step 4
Before planting, it is necessary to select healthy specimens and calibrate (divided into parsing): the first parsing - large bulbs 4-6 cm, they will bloom this growing year.
The second analysis is medium and smaller. And very little ones - "kids". As a rule, all analyzes are planted separately. For prophylaxis against diseases, soak for 30 minutes in a solution of the fungicide "Maxim", "Fitosporin" or a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
Step 5
Plant in holes, on the bottom of which sand is poured, spilled with a warm solution of potassium permanganate (the depth of the hole should be three times the height of the bulb). The bulbs are laid out in grooves, bottom down, without pressing hard into the soil, since the root buds can be damaged. Trenches are dug for large groups. The distance between the bulbs is 10-15 cm, but for small bulbs and for group plantings, the distance decreases. We fall asleep with soil and mulch with peat or humus. This will preserve the moisture and temperature conditions of the soil.
Step 6
In dry autumn, we water the plantings. If you missed planting dates, cover the late-planted bulbs with spruce branches or other covering material.
