Photo frame is one of the objects for which both form and content are equally important. The perception of the photograph itself depends on how you arrange it. Store copies, as a rule, have a standard, and therefore boring look, so you can decorate the purchased frame yourself.
It is necessary
- - mosaic;
- - glue;
- - coffee beans;
- - cinnamon sticks;
- - paint;
- - craquelure varnish;
- - brushes;
- - paper napkins;
- - PVA.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest technique for decorating a photo frame is to use a mosaic. It can be either a factory set or collected from improvised means. All mosaic elements are attached with special glue or droplets applied with a glue gun. Lay out the pieces one at a time so as not to mistake the pattern. Instead of factory tiles, use pieces of shells, water-rolled stones from the seashore or large beads for mosaics. The space between the parts can be covered with glue with a brush and covered with sand (if the decoration is in a nautical style) or microbeads (it differs from the usual one in a smaller size and no holes).
Step 2
The “edible” motif for the frame design is to some extent related to the described mosaic art. Place large coffee beans and cinnamon sticks on the same glue gun. They can fill the entire surface or lay out a specific ornament. Such a decoration will delight not only the eye, but also the sense of smell.
Step 3
Two cans of acrylic paint and craquelure varnish will help to create a plaque of antiquity on a wooden frame. Paint the entire surface of the frame with the first color and wait until it is completely dry. Then use a brush to apply one thin layer of craquelure. Make sure that the brush does not pass over the same place twice and move in the same direction. When the varnish is not completely dry, but so that your finger does not stick to it, apply a second contrasting shade of acrylic. Try to work with the brush quickly and in the same way as with varnish, with one touch. After some time (from 30 minutes to several hours), the top layer of paint will be covered with picturesque cracks, in which the main color will be visible. Secure the result with a layer of wood varnish.
Step 4
For frames made of any material, decoupage decor is suitable. Rub the wooden blank with sandpaper, wash and degrease the plastic one. Cut out the picture you like from paper napkins and attach it to the frame. On top with a wide brush, cover the paper with decoupage glue or PVA diluted with water in a 1: 1 ratio. Smooth the applique from the center outward, removing air bubbles and excess glue. Once dry, cover the entire frame with acrylic varnish.
