Animals love minks and shelters. Hamsters, rats and mice in nature create branched burrows with a huge number of passages, caves and tunnels connecting them. In captivity, they rarely manage to reproduce these burrows. Make your pet happy, make a tunnel for him.
It is necessary
toilet rolls, cardboard, glue, adhesive tape, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes
Instructions
Step 1
For hamsters, you can make a system of tunnels from rolls left over from toilet paper. These rolls can be secured with paper tape or glue. You can also glue hollow cardboard cylinders yourself or take boxes of tea, light bulbs and other household items. Then the section of the tunnel will be square, it will not roll under the weight of the animal.
Step 2
One of the components of the cage and a common toy for small rodents is the spring spiral tunnel. Rare animals love to use it. You can improve this design by wrapping the tunnel with paper or cloth, then the rodents will hide in it.
Step 3
Great tunnels are made from plastic bottles, while they are also transparent so that owners can watch their pet. The necks and the bottom of the bottles must be cut off, leaving a flat cylindrical part, then these parts must be connected into a long pipe using adhesive tape or holes must be drilled along the edges and the edges must be "sewn" with tape or braid. In such tunnels it is necessary to make ventilation holes, since the plastic is very poorly permeable. But the bottles come in different diameters, from the largest you can make tunnels for rats and ferrets.
Step 4
For mobile ferrets and rats, fabric suspended tunnels can be made. Pick up two rings of the right size or make them from thick wire, wrap them with cloth so that you get a cylinder. Hang the cylinder from the rings in the animal's cage.
