Instructions
Step 1
Pick the best you have. Conduct a survey among friends and acquaintances, first letting them listen to your recordings, or inviting them to concerts and rehearsals. If you are applying for the role of a DJ, think over the lyrics carefully, listen to the broadcast with other DJs. One or two tracks are enough, but they should showcase your skill and talent in the best way.
Step 2
Choose a dynamic and fluid composition to be the first track - if you are going to send songs or instrumental works to the record company. The second track, by contrast, is the most beautiful and lyrical. Listening to a lot of music for a long time is tiring, so an interesting rhythmic song can turn the attention of a potential producer to your project.
Step 3
Record your track. You can do this at home or in the studio. Many people record music at home using powerful equipment and musical instruments (synthesizer, guitar, bass, etc.). Those who already have quite a lot of experience in recording and good skills can record in decent quality, which is quite worthy of acquaintance with your work.
Step 4
Contact a professional recording studio if you are not familiar with the skills and equipment. If you want to record only texts, then this is feasible at home - just install one of the programs that allow you to record several tracks at the same time, for example, Adobe Audition, Cubase.
Step 5
Burn the tracks to disc in wav format. This format shows the best quality and can be played on any media. Write the name of the tracks and the band, as well as contact information on the disc itself, on the disc box and on the insert. The box and insert can easily get lost, and it will be a shame if you like your work, and there will be no way to contact you.
Step 6
Come up with and implement the author's design of the insert or order it from the artist, just do not overdo it with the design - let it be conceptual, but modest, stylish, but not pretentious. Let the disc grab your attention and not elicit a mocking smile.
Step 7
Provide brief information about yourself, mainly contact information. Usually it contains a cover letter, in which you must also indicate your goals for sending tracks. Don't write the history of the band's creation, your perspectives, etc. This is not interesting to anyone. Your main task is to acquaint the producer with your music; in the text, start from this.
