Before you go hunting, you should take care of two important points - the right clothing and a complete set of all the necessary equipment. Their presence will ensure the safety of the process.
clothing
Clothing should be appropriate for the hunting season, be hygroscopic, waterproof or water-repellent and not impede the movement of the hunter. It is desirable that it be as light as possible. Use cotton underwear over which you can wear flannel or woolen underwear. Of course, this advice is useful during cooler seasons. If we talk about summer, it is better to wear cotton trousers and a tunic. There is a way to make your clothes waterproof: rub the fabric with wax or paraffin and then iron it over the paper with a slightly hot iron.
In cold winters and rainy autumn, suitable gloves are indispensable, especially if the hunt is sedentary. It is advisable to have thin gloves, otherwise the mobility of the fingers will be limited. If it is very cold outside, you can put on fur mittens over such gloves, which can be removed quickly and easily. A camouflage white robe should be worn over clothing. For this purpose, you can use a wide shirt with a hood. It will perform not only a camouflage, but also a protective function, for example, in conditions of strong wind or snow.
Often, especially in the summer season, rubber boots are worn as footwear. But they must be elastic, lightweight and soft. If there is no lining in them, the boots will dry faster in case of water ingress. Sometimes hunters wear leather shoes. In this case, it is worth considering how to make it as waterproof as possible.
Don't forget about the headdress. In the warm season, it can be a cap or a cap, in winter you should wear a hat with earflaps, the top of which is made of leather. If the hunter suffers from myopia, it is better for him to take extra glasses with him, and his headgear should have a large visor to protect the glasses from rain. A good backpack plays an important role in the success of the hunt.
Equipment
After carefully choosing clothes and shoes, you should be equally careful about collecting the necessary equipment. You cannot go hunting without a knife, which you may need at any moment. The best hunting knives are simple in shape, easy to sharpen, and have a birch bark, wood or leather handle. Most likely, an ax will come in handy, but it is better that it be small and in a case. It is very important to take a crimp ring and an extractor with you, otherwise the hunt will stop due to a stuck cartridge or a bottom that has come off the paper sleeve. A gun should be prepared in advance.
A compass and a map of the area will help the hunter navigate in different weather conditions and in an unfamiliar forest. If you plan to spend the night, you can't do without a flashlight. A very useful thing is a kerosene stove, which will help prepare food and tea. It is better to take a bowler hat with you in this case. It is desirable that it be wide - the water will boil faster. In addition, the lid of such a pot can be used as a plate. It is necessary to put cutlery in the backpack - a spoon, a mug, a fork. It is also advisable to take potassium permanganate and iodine tincture. These substances will help to make the water safe for the hunter's body: just add a few potassium crystals and a few drops of tincture to a mug of water and after a few minutes you can drink it. Do not forget about the first aid kit, sleeping bag, tent, food.
