Today, you can see a lot of photos on social networks. It is already becoming fashionable and gaining a craze.
Reasons for the ban
People have come up with many explanations for the prohibition to photograph their own image. Here are a few of the most common ones you hear:
- a mirror is an accumulator of reflected emotions, including negative ones, which are attracted to the person who takes their picture;
- the energy of an object, which reflects everything that falls into its field, is rather difficult, therefore it is dangerous to underestimate the ability of mirrors to influence a person and his future;
- it is not known what will happen to the person in the photo if the mirror through which the picture was taken breaks or cracks;
- in the process of shooting, a reflective surface can take some of the energy from a person, devastating him.
These are the explanations given by esotericists and people who believe in mysticism. But there are also beliefs that have come down from ancient times.
Signs of ancient antiquity
Our ancestors attributed things that could reflect the appearance of a person and other objects, a connection with demonic entities. Because of this, people who looked in the mirror for a long time displayed remarkable selfishness and pride. And this refers to one of the known deadly sins.
A person who loves to admire his reflection for a long time becomes more selfish and shows a negative attitude towards others. What would our ancestors say if they knew that people take pictures in the mirror, and then store the resulting images. Moreover, most of them post such photos for everyone to see on social networks.
Why risk it when you can ask a friend or acquaintance to take a regular picture. After all, there is a delayed shooting function for self-photography or a dedicated tripod for selfies.
