Cycling is an excellent sport, a convenient and accessible urban means of transportation for everyone. Cycling is one of the most popular ways to spend your free time with health benefits and pleasure. In stores, you can find a huge variety of models of bicycles for different purposes and in different price categories, but you can also assemble a bike yourself from individual parts. This is a more time-consuming method, but if you assemble all the parts by hand, picking each of them in advance, you can be sure that the bike suits you to the last screw.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you will need the parts without which the bike cannot function - wheels and brakes. Release the brake cable from the brake frame on the front fork of the bike in order to fit the front wheel to the fork.
Step 2
Loosen the front wheel nuts or turn the cam nut counterclockwise, depending on the type of wheel you choose. Place the wheel in the front fork, guiding the tire pattern in the same direction as the rear wheel pattern. Fasten the front wheel nuts back, then install the brake pads on the wheel, inserting the brake cable through the slot of the frame.
Step 3
After installing the front wheel, install the stem on the future bike. To do this, unscrew its tension bolt and insert the stem into a special hole (steering column). The stem should be parallel to the front wheel. After installing the stem, tighten the nut, and then begin to install the saddle on the frame.
Step 4
Insert the saddle on the seatpost into the special groove on the frame to the desired height and tighten the securing bolt.
Step 5
Before attaching the pedals to your bike, check which pedals are labeled as left and which are labeled as right. Insert the right pedal into the right crank arm and turn its axis clockwise until it stops, and then insert the left pedal into the left crank rod and rotate counterclockwise until it stops.
Step 6
Place the rear wheel centered between the rear fork and the frame, tighten the nuts with a wrench or turn the eccentric. Install the brake pads and thread the brake cable through the frame.
Step 7
After installing the rear wheel, firmly tighten all screw connections on the bike. Tighten the nuts as tight as possible to ensure the strength, safety and durability of the bike. Tighten the left pedal counterclockwise and the right pedal clockwise. Then tighten the connecting rod retaining nuts. Tighten the steering system and brake levers retaining nuts.
Step 8
Adjust the derailleur - shift it to the lowest speed (first) and pedal to move the chain to the smallest sprocket. Loosen the nut of the derailleur and adjust its position so that the distance between its bar and the large sprocket does not exceed 3 mm.
Step 9
The switch should be parallel to the large sprocket. After adjusting the switch, tighten the nut. Adjust the rear derailleur in this manner by tightening the cable with pliers, and then proceed to adjust the brake system.
Step 10
After all the bike systems are adjusted and configured, your bike is ready for use.
