In 1999, Masashi Kishimoto's manga "Naruto" was published: a story about a teenage ninja who dreamed of achieving recognition, becoming the strongest ninja and the head of the village. And in 2002, the first episode of the anime series of the same name was shown in Japan, which gained popularity in other countries, including Russia. Now "Naruto" is a large-scale project, which includes not only manga and anime, but also video games, novels and a collectible card game.
While developing the characters, Masashi Kishimoto studied other shonen manga to make Naruto's characters unique. Naruto Uzumaki turned out to be a mischievous and energetic teenager, and his rival, Sasuke Uchiha, was created in the form of a "tough genius". Kishimoto poorly represented the main character, even when he already took up her creation, but as a result, Sakura Haruno joined the team of Naruto and Sasuke.
In the plot, the characters are divided into teams. Each team is headed by a talented ninja who, on the one hand, has many abilities, but on the other, he is a complete mediocrity. With this, Kishimoto wanted to show that team members need to work together to overcome each other's weaknesses and make up for each other's shortcomings.
The villainous characters oppose the protagonists both in deeds and in moral values. Their faces and bodies are decorated brighter and more prominently so that readers can more easily follow the battle scenes. And Kishimoto believed that bright costumes and effects made the characters more memorable.
The characters of "Naruto" are endowed with unique abilities, a description of which can be found in a separate book - "Sho no Shi". Kishimoto illustrated this book himself. And for each hero, it tells about:

The world is fictional and is similar to feudal Japan: states are small, act and develop by themselves, and daimyo rule them. States have hidden villages in which ninjas live. And at the head of each village is an independent ruler - Kage. And ninjas are mercenaries, they can fight and do something everyday: weed a vegetable garden, for example. They get paid for missions.
The level of technology in the world of "Naruto" is controversial. There are no firearms and combat vehicles, but the heroes use transmitters and surveillance cameras. In combat, characters rely on swords, shurikens, kunai, and special ninja abilities. These abilities include using chakra magical energy, which is equivalent to chi energy, and using special gestures to control it. The gestures are called seals. And the action of the chakra is subject to strict rules.
Brief description of the plot of the manga
In the body of Naruto Uzumaki, the main character, a demon is sealed - a nine-tailed fox. 12 years before his birth, this demon attacked Konoha, Naruto's home village. To save her, the Fourth Hokage, the head of the village, sealed the demon inside his own son and died. The villagers, knowing about the demon, feared Naruto and hated him.
In the first part of the manga, Naruto hardly gets the title of genin, a beginner ninja. Studying is very difficult for him. Gradually, Naruto has friends in the village and new abilities develop. However, Konoha is attacked by a criminal ninja named Orochimaru and kills the head of the village. Sasuke, Naruto's friend, voluntarily leaves with this criminal in order to become stronger and take revenge on his brother. Naruto wants to return Sasuke, for which he also leaves Konoha, trains with the legendary ninja - Jiraiya, who was formerly Orochimaru's comrade.
In the second part of the manga, the main character is 16 years old, i.e. 2, 5 years have passed since the events of the first part. Naruto, after finishing training, returned to Konoha, where he teamed up with friends to save Sasuke. They are opposed by a whole organization - "Akatsuki", whose members want to capture all the tailed demons, including the nine-tailed fox. Sasuke at the same time decides that Orochimaru has nothing to learn - he betrays and kills the criminal ninja. After finding his brother, Sasuke begins a fight, but his brother suddenly falls dead. Later, the head of Akatsuki tells Sasuke that his brother in the past acted on the orders of the head of Konoha. Sasuke, wanting to destroy the village, becomes a member of the Akatsuki. Konoha survives this attack, but is practically destroyed. And the leader of "Akatsuki" declares the Fourth Ninja World War.
