In addition to joysticks and additional keyboards that control the process of the Grid game, there are also steering wheels. They are similar to automobiles and, depending on the model, may include a gearbox and pedals. The steering wheel enhances comfort as it simulates real driving. Together with the steering wheel, you need to stock up on software for it.

Instructions

Step 1

Use a USB cable to connect the steering wheel to the computer and, if available, additional devices to the steering wheel. The computer must identify the devices. If everything works fine at once, then the driver may not be installed. But it's still better to do this, since some files may be useful for managing in the Grid.

Step 2

Install the software. To do this, insert the CD with the driver into your computer's drive, and then perform the installation from autorun. If autorun is disabled in the system, install the device using the setup wizard in the control panel. Run the installation wizard, find the list of connected devices, mark the one you need and click "Next".

Step 3

Select the disk with the driver through the "Browse" and start the installation. When the installation is over, restart your computer. By the way, if there is no driver on the disk, you can find it on the Internet. The Add New Hardware Wizard will download and install it itself.

Step 4

Now launch the Grid and find the Control Options Settings in the game menu. Specify the steering wheel as the main unit and set up the system details. If the game does not have a settings menu for such devices, you will have to specify the parameters intuitively.

Step 5

Do not forget that the steering wheel is connected first, and only then the game turns on. If you do the opposite, you will not find the gamepad in the control settings. Please also note that some models, when connected correctly, detect an indication. For example, some steering wheels have a gas pedal scale.

Step 6

The steering wheel is essentially a game control as an alternative to the keyboard. And the button assignment can be customized. For example, an unused button may become the clutch pedal.

Step 7

You now have two steering wheels: one in the display, the other in your hands. It is necessary that they rotate in the same way, synchronously. To do this, set the linearity to neutral. That is, in the "Steering sensitivity" setting, set 50%. This setting will only work with the Roll Angle Limit setting. There is a quick and advanced tuning mode. In advanced mode, there is a "Turn the wheels" setting. To make linear neutrality, you need to bring the steering sensitivity to 50%, and the steering to 100%. This will give you adequate control of the car in the Grid, complete synchronization of the virtual and real steering wheels, and with all this the opportunity to feel like real racers.
