It would seem, what is easier, threw the net into the reservoir and after a couple of hours take out a bountiful catch. But not everything is so simple. Fishing with a net has a lot of features that simply cannot be ignored. Much depends on the correct landing of the net.

Step 1
Landing the net means tying the netting to the cord. It can be done manually with the help of a shuttle, and with machine knitting of the net - automatically. The lower cord is called the cargo cord and it should be larger than the upper one. So, for example, with a network length of 60 meters, the length of the lower cord will be 33 meters, and the upper one - 27 meters. There is an option when, on the contrary, the upper cord is longer than the lower one. In this case, the upper part has a low tension, which makes the net more catchy. This landing method is common in the northern waters of the Gulf of Bothnia.
Step 2
One popular way to plant a net is with a milestone. A milestone is a special ruler used as an aid. Make notches at the ends to match the distance between the nodes. To make the milestone universal, suitable for networks with different cells, stick several tapes with different values on it. But, as a rule, experienced net knitters do not need it.
Step 3
The simplest fit for large mesh nets is to thread the cord through the mesh. An obligatory landing element is a knot. From all the variety of knots, choose the double knot, it is very popular with fishermen and is especially used when landing seines.
Step 4
For hand-tied nets, use a running landing. Its main advantage is the absence of securing knots, which allows the webbed to move along the planting thread. This landing makes the net more mobile and more catchy.
Step 5
Drift landing got its name from the networks with the same name. Here you need to secure the planting thread to the pick with a simple planting knot. Wrap the thread coming from the knot at a distance of 3-4 strokes around the root end and then tie both threads into a knot at a fixed length of the sag. The planting thread is twisted in half. For greater rigidity of the entire structure, you can use a mesh.
